Bookmaker Review of Playboy Sportsbook |

2006/10/23 - Review by Ira Nanson
Playboy sportsbook is a wholly owned subsidiary of Playboy Enterprises Inc and powered by Ladbrokes Limited which happens to be one of the largest and most respected betting organisations in the United Kingdom. The software of choice is Orbis which powers the sportsbook of BetDirect, Blue Square, PaddyPower and TotalBet. The layout of the website looks like it was inspired by a minimalist and a complete contradiction of what you would expect from Playboy, there are no gimmicks, females or flashing banners. The navigation is made even more simple because the website is very plain and uncomplicated. There is a 5 step sign up process which is straight forward enough and you can set your own daily / weekly deposit limits on the registration page, choose from a minimum of £20 to the maximum £9900. Minimum deposit value is £5 or equivalent. Wagering options include a horse book, greyhounds, casino and sports. Sporting events are limited to cricket, snooker, golf, tennis, darts, baseball, hockey, rugby, boxing, NFL, soccer, basketball, motor sports, handball and specials. Maximum payout in any one day is £250,000 unless otherwise stated, or if you are wagering on the Cheltenham Festival it's possible to win as much as £1 million in any one day. Customer service is restricted to telephone and emails only. There are no promotional offers advertised on the website. Some customers have complained that the limits are identical to those offered at Ladbokes which are thought to be painfully small when you consider the size of the company. Residents of USA, Gibraltar, Holland, Germany and related territories are not able to wager at Playboy Sportsbook. I expected so much more from the two giant names Ladbrokes and Playboy so I am slightly disappointed with the bookmaker, it is in no way great! It merits an above average rating mainly because of the solid financial structure and does not compare with Bet365 and Pinnacle Sports Betting. Sports Gambling Review rates Playboy Sportsbook : |
