BetDirect was launched in 1998 by Littlewoods Pools a veteran company founded in 1923 that secured the trust in every household throughout the United Kingdom.

The book is now the sports betting arm of Sportech Plc, operated by 32Red Plc and like Ladbrokes, BetDirect have opted to use Orbis software to power the bookmaker .

The overall layout of the BetDirect website is attractive and easy to navigate. Pages load quickly and the betting process is hassle free. But despite catering to the European market the BetDirect book only offers a website in English.

However the BetDirect book does provide an extensive range of sports and betting options for all types of bettors such as American sports, soccer, darts, golf, cricket and many others. Plus, casino, poker, games, live in-running, horses / ante-post, greyhounds / ante-post plus Euro Asian handicaps.

Odds can be viewed as either fractional, decimal, American or Italian. Added features include mobile wagering and Sky interactive Digital bettors can place sports wagers, lottery and pools using their TV remote control. Minimum bet at BetDirect is £1.

Registering an account is fast and like SkyBet, BetDirect allows customers to set their own daily/weekly deposit limits between £50 - £10,000 GBP.

The minimum deposit limit is £5 and although there are not many options to choose from, most debit and credit cards are accepted.

They accept 12 different currencies including GBP, Euro's, US and Australian, Singapore dollar plus Canadian and the Japanese Yen just to name a few.

Customer service is limited to email and telephone use only but the agents are friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond.

There are very few complaints about this book, most stem from players whose wagers were cancelled after the book posted an incorrect line. Palpable errors can happen at any book at any time so BetDirect can't really be condemned for an honest mistake.

Listed on the London Stock Exchange and licensed and regulated in the United Kingdom, Betdirect are comparable to UKBetting, Blue Square, and 10Bet. All offer an above average gaming experience in a secure gaming environment.
