2007/01/12 - Review by Ira Nanson
BetGrandSlam is a product of Business Management International S.A. which also operates BetAnySports, BetPrimeTime, ChineseBookie, YouWager, LessJuice, BetPop, VietBet and Wager7. BMI us ASI software to power their sportsbooks which is the popular choice of many books and especially the top tier ones such as Nine Sportsbook, Pinnacle Sports, SkyBook and TheGreek. The BetGrandSlam website however is rather bland, it offers no special features and is quite limited compared to other shops of equal size. Most sporting events are covered including football, basketball, baseball, boxing, golf, hockey and horse racing. The range of bet types offered are straight bets, totals, teasers up to 6 teams, parlays up to 8 teams, if bets, reverses, round robins, buy points, money lines and futures. Minimum stake online is $5 and $50 per bet for telephone wagers. Minimum stake for online horse wagering is $2 and $2 via the telephone with a $10 minimum per ticket, per call. Maximum stake via telephone is $20,000 on a side and $10,000 on a total, depending on the sporting event. Maximum stake on future wagers is $2000 depending on the event. Deposit options are minimal and are limited to money transfers, instant check, NETeller, credit card and bank wire. The book will reimburse the fees for deposits of $300 and more for most methods. Industry standard bonus offers are available but US customers are only eligible to receive them. All members must be 21 years and older in order to place wagers. There is no live chat facility but customer support is available 24/7/365 via email and a toll free telephone service. The email response time is generally 24 hours. Although there are no complaints against BetgrandSlam players need to be aware of the complaints reported against sister site YouWager ranging from aggressive marketing tactics with agents cold calling up to 3 times per week, big winners failing to get a payout and verbal abuse from the hot tempered general manager Freddie Harris. BMI have a low tolerance for professional bettors and recreational players are least likely to experience any problems using the book. Overall the company has a good payout performance, it's financially stable and merits a reputable ranking but we would advise you to first shop around and check out the better books listed on SGR.
