As of November 15th 2006, Bodog Entertainment bought Betcorp PLC and BetWWTS players accounts were transfered as follow:

• US players were transfered to Bodog
• Canadian players were transfered to Bowmans
• Non-US/Non-Canadian players were transfered to BetBet

For some, no news is good news!

But not for US customers waiting to find out when they can access their funds locked in BetCorp and other White Label Sites.

According to their latest announcement on Monday 16th October Betcorp basically states that they have not yet reached a purchase agreement and it could be another 10 days before US customers will know if they can resume wagering. One thing they want to make fundamentally clear is the fact that there is no risk to customer funds, as soon as practicably possible customers will be able to cash out and hopefully resume wagering.

As reported by Gambling911 all future wagers and those made on weekend games made by US bettors prior to the shutdown will be honored.

Within minutes of President George Bush signing the Unlawful Internet Gambling ACT 2006 on Friday 13th all of the Betcorp related sites were taken offline so they could implement restrictions to their software that would block US residents from placing wagers, similarly all deposit and withdrawal transactions were also frozen.

An anonymous source advised SGR that this move not only took the customers by surprise, but the staff too. It was understood that BetCorp would prohibit deposit transactions but they would continue to service US customers until such time the account balance was zero.

Gambling911 reports that there are three possible suitors looking to purchase BetWWTS and the other BetCorp US facing brands so there's a good possibility that the company will be privatized early next week. An official announcement by Betcorp should be made first thing Monday morning.

The unknown source was also keen for readers to know that the company is in no way comparable to BetOnSports who is yet to reimburse any funds to their customers. On the contrary Betcorp have zero debt and have plenty of money in reserve. The reason customers are not able to withdraw is because of the transition period and the expected surge of withdrawals that could adversely affect any sale. "Betcorp just want players to hold tight until first thing Monday morning and apologizes for this inconvenience."
